Christmas Book Advent #7: The Spirit of Christmas by Nancy Tillman

Bells jingle, sleds dash through the snow, trees are topped with sparkling stars, and children everywhere dream of candy canes and presents. But the best gift of all—the most magical gift of the season—is when we spend Christmas with those we love.

Once again, this New York Times-bestselling author and artist has created a special, beautiful book that families will want to share year after year. (And readers will want to look for the Spirit of Christmas image that Nancy has hidden on every page!)

This year is our first year doing a Christmas Book Advent. The kids are loving it … maybe even as much as me. I didn’t want to swamp the blog with 25 picture books, so I decided to just post our last week of books.

Today’s picture book, The Spirit of Christmas by Nancy Tillman, is a special picture book. What else would you expect from Nancy Tillman? The illustrations are gorgeous and my children will look at them for ten minutes each, losing themselves in the colors and textures, and trying to find the Spirit of Christmas.

With lyrical prose and a meaningful message, this is a book to pass on to your children and your children’s children.
